This is an ugly person(me) cutting a sheet metal blank with a $15,000 pair of scissors. Refreshment of choice is optional.
I am bending a flange on the blank with two pieces of angle iron held in a vise. This is sometimes the only way to get the shape you want.
Make sure you clamp the angles on both sides of the blank to prevent slipping.
Using a plastic or leather mallet keeps from scarring the blank. You may notice there is a flange bent on the end already.
I am using a tool called a caulk to make a tight bend by concentrating the force as close to the bend as possible.
